B-You! Jahrgang 3+4+5: English Book Club
Dearest reader...
Do you love reading? Is BookTok your second home? Does the pile of books on your bedside table keep growing à la: "So many books, so little time?" Then the Book Club is just the thing for you! Come and join us with a cup of tea or hot chocolate, some delicious snacks - and let's discuss all things characters, plot twists, and language together!
What do we do? We read and discuss one book together. We decide on the book together in our first session, and then we will follow a reading schedule for the rest of the Book Club. So you will always know which chapters to read and prepare for the next session. In each session we might: Analyse scenes from a movie adaptation of the book (depending on the book), write an alternative ending to a chapter, discuss key questions of the plot and character development, talk about the historical + social context of the book, write a dialogue between two characters that never meet (but what if they would..?), send a character to an imaginary therapy session... — and so much more!
How often do we meet? We meet once a week for 90 minutes, for 8 weeks. We will start in March. (We'll decide together which day suits us best.)
Where do we meet? We meet online via Zoom. The instructor, Julia, lives in Sydney, Australia, so a weekly journey to Hamburg might be a little bit too much 😉
Why should you come? Because you will become part of an amazing group of other fellow book lovers, become more confident speaking English, dive deep into a fantastic piece of literature, improve your English vocabulary basically without even trying.
