We support artists, musicians, and other creatives looking to establish indepedent or freelance careers following their studies with a one-year grant.

As part of the Claussen-Simon Foundation’s 40th anniversary in 2022, we launched ProduktionsstART to support outstanding stART.up alumni in realizing a (first) major artistic project that holds the potential for wide-reaching impact and social relevance.

Together with our French cooperation partners Fondation Fiminco and Maison Heinrich Heine, we offer stART.up alumni the opportunity to present their art in Paris, to form a network, and to make an artistic impact.

With the "ART CONNECTS - Aid Fund for Projects with Cultural Workers Seeking Protection", Hamburg foundations and other civil society actors supported Hamburg's cultural institutions and artists quickly and unbureaucratically in their artistic collaboration with people seeking protection. The focus of the funding was on artists of all nationalities seeking protection who have fled the war in Ukraine - from the war or from reprisals in their home country. The ART CONNECTS relief fund was initiated by the Rudolf Augstein Foundation, the Claussen-Simon Foundation, the ZEIT-Stiftung BUCERIUS and the Hamburgische Kulturstiftung.
