Arts education, interdisciplinary exchange, and the support of emerging artists are at the heart of our funding activities in the field of arts and culture. We support graduates of art and music universities who seek to establish independent artistic careers after completing their studies. In addition, the Claussen-Simon Foundation funds cultural initiatives and projects in Hamburg that are dedicated to promoting the arts, cultural and musical outreach, and cultural education.

Art Connects!

With the "ART CONNECTS - Aid Fund for Projects with Cultural Workers Seeking Protection", Hamburg foundations and other civil society actors supported Hamburg's cultural institutions and artists quickly and unbureaucratically in their artistic collaboration with people seeking protection. The focus of the funding was on artists of all nationalities seeking protection who have fled the war in Ukraine - from the war or from reprisals in their home country. The ART CONNECTS relief fund was initiated by the Rudolf Augstein Foundation, the Claussen-Simon Foundation, the ZEIT-Stiftung BUCERIUS and the Hamburgische Kulturstiftung
